KANIPAKAM

Ganesha refers to the “lord of the hosts”

‘Ga’ symbolizes Buddhi (intellect) and ‘Na’ symbolizes Vijnana (wisdom). Ganesha is thus considered the master of intellect and wisdom.

The story of 3 brothers , Blind,Deaf and Dumb – One of them used to Irrigate the field through the channels and the other 2 used to ply on the piccota . On one occasion they found that the water in the well got depleted and they can no longer pull water from the well . So one of them got into the well and started digging it deeper , and their sharp implement hit a stone formation and the entire water present in the well turned blood red . Startled by this divine experience all 3 became normal from their disabilities .After this miracle ,coconuts were offered by villagers and the theertham from the coconuts covered the whole area , hence the usage of the word “Kaniparakam” which later pronounced as Kaniapakam .

Even today the springs of the well are perennial and eternal , and this water is offered to devotees as theertham .
